itinerarY, prices & Inclusions

Day 1: Arrive Lima
Welcome to Lima. Upon arrival you will be assisted at the Lima airport and then transferred to your hotel. You will have free time to rest. Accommodation at selected hotel in Lima.
Meals included: None.

Day 2: Lima

Lima City Tour: Historical Center and Santo Domingo Convent (Half-day tour)
You will visit the modern and colonial parts of Lima, known as The City of Kings, starting at the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, passing by a pre-Inca sacred place, before heading to the Historic Center. There, you will explore some of the most historically important streets of the city, leading to the Plaza de Armas, where you will have some time to take pictures of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it. Then you will visit the impressive Convent of Santo Domingo, an astonishing building with colonial style. After exploring the Historical Center, you will head towards modern Miraflores to make a stop at the Parque del Amor, from where you can take beautiful photographs of the Lima bay area.

Day 3: Lima - Cuzco
Welcome to Cuzco. Upon arrival you will be assisted at the Cuzco airport and then transferred to your hotel.
HALF DAY CITY TOUR, VISIT TO SAN PEDRO MARKET AND RUINS (SHARED BASIS).
1pm: Cusco City Tour: San Blas neighborhood, Korikancha Temple, Cathedral, Sacsayhuamán, Kenko. You will explore the city of Cusco, also known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will walk its streets where time seems to have stopped, where every corner tells a story. You will visit the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and center of worship to the Sun God, on which the Dominican order built a church, which remains standing to this day. You will continue ascending to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Afterwards, you will visit other places of importance within the Inca culture, such as the archaeological site of Q'enko. Finally, you will arrive at the Plaza de Armas (main square), where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important Catholic temple in the city.

Day 4: Cuzco - Sacred Valley - Cuzco
Essence of the Sacred Valley (Full-day tour). You will tour the Sacred Valley of the Incas, discovering its fascinating culture, surrounded by majestic mountains. You will visit a small and picturesque Andean town, where you will explore an important Inca archaeological site and learn about the local history. Afterwards, you will pause at a local restaurant for a delicious lunch. Then, you will continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the most representative architectural complexes of the Inca Empire and site of one of the Spanish Conquistadors' rare strategic defeats. Famous for its terraced fields, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress, that also served as a temple.

Day 5: Cuzco - Inca Trail (04 Days – 03 Nights Inca trail) - HUAYLLABAMBA
Departures: Wednesdays, Thursday, and Sunday.
Early morning bus drive to the head of our trail at Km 82 from where we continue along the Urubamba River to the first archaeological site "Llaqtapata". Here we enjoy lunch in a beautiful setting. After a rest we continue into the side valley starting to gain altitude until we get to the last village Huayllabamba where we camp for today.

Day 6: Inca trail: HUAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO 
After a healthy breakfast we start climbing up to the first pass "Warmiwañusca" (4200 Mt/ 14'200 Ft). The climb will take us most of the morning. From here we descend for about 2 hours into the valley to our next camp "Pacaymayo".

Day 7: Inca trail: PACAYMAYO – WIÑAYWAYNA
Today is going to be the most diverse day. We start in the morning with the ascent of the second pass "Runcuracay" (3900 Mt/ 13'800 Ft) and descend on the other side for about 2 hours to the beautiful archaeological site "Sayacmarca". After having explored this unique place we continue on the original stone path of the Incas through semi-tropical cloud forest onto the third pass "Phuyupatamarca" (3800 Mt/ 13'600 Ft). With good weather we have spectacular views of the surrounding snow peaks and the valley below. From here it is all downhill to our camp at "Wiñaywayna" (one of the most beautiful sites in the area for its construction and setting).

Day 8: Inca trail: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHU PICCHU  - CUZCO
Early after a tasty breakfast we hike another 2 hours through cloud forest to the famous sun gate "Intipunku" from where we have the first breathtaking view and best panorama of the mysterious "Machupicchu". A short walk brings us down to the site. After refreshing a little we will visit "the lost city of the Incas" in a guided tour for app. 2 hrs. After that we descend by bus to the village Aguas Calientes. After lunch we take the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer by bus to Cuzco.

Day 8: Depart Cuzco
At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the Lima airport to board your flight.
