ITINERARY & PRICES
Day 1 Arrive Kilimanjaro / Arusha
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to Arusha for Dinner and overnight at Planet Lodge Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha - Lake Manyara (BLD)
After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park for game drive with picnic lunch, driving via Makuyuni and Mto wa Mbu village. Lake Manyara National Park, with the possibility of sighting the famous for tree-climbing lions. Here you can see a variety of habitats and diverse animals and birds. Witness the large flock of flamingos descending on Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Lodge.
Day 3: Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park (BLD)
After breakfast, depart for the Serengeti National Park for game viewing with picnic lunch, famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest's trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant's gazelle. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowl the southeastern plains. There is more to Serengeti than large mammals. There are over 500 species of birds, and your guide will also introduce you to the small five'. Enroute to Serengeti, you will drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Ndutu Plains. Dinner and overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp Seronara.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park (BLD)
After breakfast, full day game drive in Serengeti (with picnic lunch). Here can be found the largest concentration of plain animals - 4 million and 500 species of birds. You can hope to see predators chasing their prey and enjoying their kill, and the scenery is spectacular. Dinner and overnight at Kati Kati Tented Camp Seronara.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park - Ngronogoro Crater National Park (BLD)
Morning game drive in Serengeti and depart for Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch Stop enroute at Olduvai Gorge, site of archeological findings where traces of pre-historic man dating back to 3.5 million years ago have been discovered. Visit the on-site museum and witness a panoramic view of the historical excavation site. Overnight in Karatu. Dinner and overnight at Karatu Simba Lodge.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater National Park (BLD)
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro and descend into the crater for full day game viewing with picnic lunch. Here you can see a spectacular concentration of wildlife, including the big five. Drive across the dense forest and near the soda lake and enjoy viewing a variety of bird life. Ascend to the lodge from the 2000ft. deep crater. Overnight in Karatu. Dinner and overnight at Karatu Simba Lodge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro National Park - Tarangire National Park (BLD)
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. You will drive down the Great Rift Valley seeing Lake Manyara to your right. Lunch at the lodge, then proceed with afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. The name Tarangire is derived from the Tarangire River which provides permanent water for wildlife. In addition to a wide variety of mammals, over 300 species of birdlife have been recorded in this park. Dinner and overnight at Lake Burunge Tented Camp.
Day 8: Tarangire National Park - Arusha/ Depart Kilimanjaro (BL)
Depart for Arusha with an optional stop over at the Cultural Heritage center for some souvenir shopping and to view the art gallery. On a clear day you will see Mt. Meru standing tall over the city of Arusha. Arrive at the Arusha Coffee Lodge where you will enjoy a sumtuous lunch in the lush green gardens. After lunch you may have some time to visit Shanga, an uplifting local community social enterprise which employs people with disabilities to create unique handmade gifts. Transfer from Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport for your International flight.
Note: A yellow fever certificate is required for Tanzania if entering from Kenya or any other Yellow Fever endemic countries.
