ITINERARY & PRICES
Day 1 Arrive Tokyo
Arrive at Narita Airport or Haneda Airport. An English-speaking tour conductor will meet customers at the airport, and assist them in boarding the taxi to their hotel in Tokyo. Free time after arrival. Overnight at the hotel. Grand Prince hotel Shin Takanawa (3 Star) or Keio Plaza Hotel (4 Star)
Day 2 Tokyo
7:35-8:50am Pick-up Service. There is a taxi drop-off service from the hotel in Tokyo to the tour departure location.
9:10-9:20am Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo Main Tower 3F. Please be at the meeting location at least 10 minutes before departure.
30(min) Imperial Palace (Nijubashi Bridge). Visit this place, the center of development of Edo-Tokyo, which was once the Edo Castle in the early modern period and has since become the Imperial Palace.
50(min) Tsukiji. Tsukiji, an area known as "Tokyo's Kitchen" for many years. Even after the market relocated, the Outer Market remains bustling with its many shops offering food and food-related items. Walk along the alleys throughout the Outer Market and enjoy shopping for goods and tasting local food.
60(min) Senso-ji Temple & Nakamise Shopping Street. Senso-ji, Tokyo's oldest temple, offers plenty to see including the bright red Kaminarimon Gate, a statue of the god of thunder, and a five-story pagoda. The bustling street known as "Nakamise" stretches for about 250 m from Kaminarimon Gate to Sensoji Temple and is filled with a plethora of shops.
1:30pm Tour Ends at Asakusa. Tour ends after sightseeing at Asakusa. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Tokyo
7:00-8:15am Pick-up Service. There is a taxi drop-off service from the hotel in Tokyo to the tour departure location.
8:35-8:45am Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo Main Tower 3F. Please arrive by 8:35. The bus will depart at 8:45.
90(min) Nikko Toshogu Shrine. A registered UNESCO World Heritage Site, this sacred place with over 400 years of history is where Ieyasu Tokugawa, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, is enshrined. Enjoy seeing the traditional beauty of the main hall, as well as the sleeping cat and 3 monkey carvings.
50(min) Lunch. Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.
10(min) Lake Chuzenji Created by an eruption of Mt. Nantai, Lake Chuzenji is a symbol of Nikko.
30(min) Kegon Falls. Known as one of Japan's 3great waterfalls, Kegon Falls towers an impressive 97 meters and gushes water from Lake Chuzenji.
[Remarks] The charge to take the Kegon Falls elevator is not included in the booking price. Admire the waterfall from the observation deck facing the falls free of charge.
4:30-5:00pm 30(min) Tobu Nikko Station Stop at Tobu Nikko Station.
20(min) Hanyu Parking Area The Hanyu Parking Area is a rest area along the highway which creates a close representation of an Edo Period town.See the beautiful structures and famous long-established shops dating back to the Edo Period, and enjoy shopping for souvenirs.
[Remarks] Depending on road conditions, the tour may stop at a different parking area (rest area) instead of the Hanyu Parking Area. In this case, please note that the different rest area will not be a representation of an Edo Period town.
7:00-7:30pm Shinjuku. This tour disbands upon arrival near Shinjuku Station West Exit. Please make your own way to the hotel accommodation in Tokyo from Shinjuku. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 Tokyo - Hakone
6:40-7:55am Pick-up Service. There is a taxi drop-off service from the hotel in Tokyo to the tour departure location.
8:15-8:25am Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo Main Tower 3F. Please be at the meeting location at least 10 minutes before departure.
Meet at 8:15, Dep. at 8:25
(GINZA SIX) A stop may be made for pick-up. The tour may stop by at GINZA SIX to pick up customers.
30(min) Mt. Fuji 5th Station. The bus will head up to the 5th Station along the Subaru Line. The 5th Station is situated at 2,300 meters (7,546 feet) above sea level. At this height, you will be amazed at spectacular, breathtaking views from above the clouds.
50(min) Lunch. Enjoy Japanese-style cuisine.
15(min) Lake Ashi Cruise. At Lake Ashi in Hakone, customers can ride a cruise ship. Spend a relaxing time while gazing at the beautiful lake and Mt. Fuji. *The tour may be guided to an alternative destination if the Lake Ashi cruise operation is suspended, or depending on road conditions, congestion, etc.
50(min) Hakone Komagatake Ropeway. Take a 7-minute ropeway ride to the peak of Mt. Komagatake. A total of 50 minutes will be spent here, including time to walk around at the peak. Take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop. Enjoy the scenery of Lake Ashi spread out below. *The tour may be guided to an alternative destination if the Komagatake Ropeway operation is suspended, or depending on road conditions, congestion, etc.
Hakone-en. Depending on traffic congestion on the day and any itinerary order change, the tour may disembark at Moto-Hakone Port.
5:00-6:00pm Stay at Hotel in Hakone Area. Go to the hotel on foot, via bus, or via taxi. Yumoto Fujiya Hotel (3 Star & 4 Star options)
Day 5 Hakone - Kyoto
7:50-9:30am. Depart from Hotel in Hakone Area to Odawara Station. Go to Odawara Station by taxi or bus
15(min) From Odawara Station to Shin-Yokohama Station. Take a non-reserved Kodama or Hikari Shinkansen. Note that seating is not guaranteed if the train is crowded. Shinkansen
120(min) From Shin-Yokohama Station to Kyoto Station Take a Nozomi Shinkansen to Kyoto.
Lunch (Western-style menu). Enjoy lunch at a hotel. Lunch
1:20pm Depart from Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo Walk to Tours Desk in Avanti.
1:30pm Avanti's Tours Desk (across from Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit) - Depart
60(min) Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) Nara Park. A World Heritage site. This is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world's largest wooden structures. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.
40(min) Kasuga Taisha Shrine. This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers.
20(min) Nara Nagomikan (Gift Shop). The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir.
6:30-7:30pm Drop-off Service After Kyoto Station, participants will be dropped off at their hotels. *Customers at some hotels are to transfer on foot. Stay at Hotel in Kyoto City. Overnight at the hotel. Kyoto Tokyu Hotel (3 Star) or Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto (4 Star).
Day 6 Kyoto
7:50-8:30am Pick-up Service There is a taxi drop-off service from the hotel inKyoto to the tour departure location. *Customers at some hotels are to transfer on foot.
8:30am Avanti's Tours Desk (across from Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit) - Depart
50(min) Nijo Castle. A World Heritage site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for the Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace. The impressive, elaborate carvings and decors in the Ninomaru Palace are a must see.
45(min) Kinkaku-ji Temple. A World Heritage site. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful pond.
40(min) Kyoto Imperial Palace. See the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which was used as the Emperor's residence until about 150 years ago.
40(min) [Kyoto Imperial Palace Closed Days] Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is the substitute for Kyoto Imperial Palace on days it is closed to visitors. It is famous for housing the God of scholarship. This shrine's main hall is a designated national treasure. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.
60(min) Lunch - Participants will be provided a set menu meal.
30(min) Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of some 40,000 inari-jinja shrines located all over Japan. The bright red Senbon Torii gates are a must-see attraction.
30(min) Sanjusangen-do Temple. Visit the world's longest wooden structure, housing 1,001 life-size statues of Buddhist Kannon deities dating back to the 13th century.
70(min) Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The view of Kyoto from the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera is superb. The historic shopping lane that leads to the temple adds to a wonderful experience.
5:30-6:30pm Drop-off Service. Head to Kyoto City Hotels *Customers at some hotels are to transfer on foot. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 Kyoto - Hiroshima & Miyajima tour
7:30-7:40 Depart from the Tours Desk inside Avanti (across from Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit). Please be at the meeting location at least 10 minutes before departure.
(Meet at 7:30, Dep. at 7:40) Walk to Kyoto Station. *An assistant will guide participants to the Kyoto Station Shinkansen platform, but will not board the Shinkansen.
Hiroshima & Miyajima Tour.
100(min) Depart from Kyoto Station From Kyoto Station to Hiroshima Station (Nozomi Shinkansen, reserved seating) *An assistant will guide participants to the Kyoto Station Shinkansen platform, but will not board the Shinkansen. Arrive at Hiroshima Station. Walk to Hotel Granvia Hiroshima On Foot
10:30am - Depart from Hotel Granvia Hiroshima Go to Miyajimaguchi by bus.
10(min) From Miyajimaguchi to Miyajima Port Go to Miyajima by ferry Boat
120(min) Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima Lunch (meal charges not included in the tour) A World Heritage site. Established in the 6th century, this shrine is one of Japan's finest, and is famous for its beautiful Shinden zukuri style structure (architecture representative of a nobles' residence in the Heian period). The contrast of the green of Mount Misen behind the lacquered shrine pavilion and the blue of the Seto Sea is beautiful and evocative of the underwater palace of Ryugujo.
10(min) From Miyajima Port to Miyajimaguchi Go to Miyajimaguchi by ferry Boat
30(min) Depart from Miyajimaguchi Take the bus to Peace Memorial Park
100(min) Peace Memorial Park & Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum This large-scale park was established in 1949 after the Pacific War ended, and is visited by countless visitors as a symbol of peace. The museum within the park is an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and was built to remind future generations of the terror wrought by atomic bombs.
Atomic Bomb Dome. The Atomic Bomb Dome is a symbol of the disastrous atomic bombing during WWII, the first atomic bombs used in human history, and has been preserved as it was to promote peace and elimination of atomic weapons around the world.
6:00-6:30pm. Arrive at Hiroshima Station.
100(min). Depart from Hiroshima Station. From Hiroshima Station to Kyoto Station (Nozomi Shinkansen, reserved seating). There is no accompanying National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter while on board the Shinkansen.
8:46-9:01pm. Arrive at Kyoto Station, Tour Ends. No drop-off service to hotels will be provided. Please head to your next destination on your own from Kyoto Station. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 Kyoto - Tokyo by train
Free time from check out until departure.
5:25-6:10pm. Depart from Hotel to Kyoto Station. An English-speaking assistant will meet participants at the hotel at departure time for shuttle service to the station. *Customers at some hotels are to transfer on foot.
5:45-7:00pm 140(min). From Kyoto Station to Tokyo Station. An assistant will guide participants to the station platform, but will not board the Shinkansen.
9:00-10:00pm Tokyo Station. An English-speaking tour conductor will meet participants at Tokyo Station. A drop-off service by taxi to accommodations within the city area is available. Please note that the tour conductor will not accompany the tour to hotels. Overnight at the hotel. Grand Prince hotel Shin Takanawa Hotel (3 Star) or Keio Plaza Hotel (4 Star)
Day 9 Depart Tokyo
After checking out, customers are free to go where they wish until departure. The taxi driver will meet customers at the hotel in Tokyo and drop them off at the airport in time for their flight. The meeting time can be checked on Day 8.
